Celestial Crow Pendant

“JUST LIKE THE MOON AND SUN, WITH THE CERTAINTY OF TIDES, JUST LIKE HOPES SPRINGING HIGH, STILL I’LL RISE”

Sterling silver celestial crow or raven pendant.

This sterling crow pendant measures approximately 1” tall. A crow, or raven, takes flight toward a bright crescent moon, standing proud against the dark night sky. Oxidised and brushed to highlight all the details, then polished for a gentle shine, this pendant has a wonderfully tactile feel, and hangs from an oxidised sterling silver chain, in your chosen length.

Let this totem crow necklace be your own personal guardian. May it light your path and give you the strength to rise.

Whilst I love all our feathered friends, corvids are my favourite birds. I have a family of crows that visit my studio frequently and happily accept a peanut or two. There is a wealth of mythology surrounding ravens and crows in numerous cultures. Native Americans see the raven as a symbol of transformation, associated with the creation of the world and the gift of sunlight to mankind. For the ancient Greeks, the crow was a symbol of Apollo in his role as god of prophecy; a symbol of good luck and communication. In the Hebrew Talmud, ravens are credited with teaching mankind how to deal with grief. In Welsh folklore, the raven was seen as a guardian of Britain. The presence of ravens at the Tower of London is an echo of this legend, and the prophecy says that if the ravens ever leave the tower, Britain will fall.

As every piece is individually made by hand, there may be very slight differences in forging and finishing which will make yours, in some small way, unique to you.

Part of my “Wild Earth” collection, a celebration of the natural world, its landscapes and wild inhabitants. These pieces are created as a reminder that there is no better designer than Nature, and to find enough beauty to fill the soul, we need only look around us.

Designed and lovingly created in my studio in Moray, Scotland.

I work in sterling silver, ancient bronze, copper and brass, with natural semi-precious gemstones. I make pieces which are perfect for layering together, mixing and matching, so you can grow your collection and choose your pieces according to your mood, or the inspiration you want to gain that day.

Each piece is unique. Whilst I may create similar pieces, as every piece is made individually by hand, no two will ever be the same. I am registered with Edinburgh Assay Office for precious metal work.
