Crow Feather Charm Necklace

“FREE YOUR MIND AND THE REST WILL FOLLOW”

Long crow feather charm necklace, in sterling silver.

The crow charm pendant, including loop section,  measures approximately 2.25″ in length (the crow feather itself being approximately 1.75″ long). The large silver crow feather is imprinted with the natural pattern from a genuine crow feather. It has then been hand-sawn, oxidised and brushed to highlight all the details, and then given a gentle polish for a subtle shine. It hangs from a hand-forged chunky silver loop, with a hand-stamped flying crow charm. All loops have been soldered closed for strength and durability.  This is a strong piece, ready to take on life’s adventures with you.

Solid and tactile, this charm pendant hangs from an oxidised sturdy 28″ sterling silver belcher chain. At this length, and with no clasp, it can be easily put on over the head – perfect for when you’re in a hurry. This piece is also great for layering with shorter pieces, such as my petite crow pendant.

The pendant can also be put on a shorter length chain – either 16″ or 20″, both with clasp, upon request. Contact me to request prior to purchase.

The feather is created by carefully imprinting the pattern from a genuine crow feather deep into the silver, using traditional processes.  As each one is created from a different feather, or different part of the feather, no two patterns will be the same. No crows are harmed in obtaining these feathers! I am fortunate to have several friendly crows living nearby, who are always happy to see me and accept the occasional peanut. During their summer moult they leave many feathers behind and I carefully collect and store each one. As these pieces are created from these gathered feathers, they are strictly limited in supply, depending upon how many feathers I am gifted each year. You can see two of my crow friends in the last photo. Your feather is most likely from one of these two, or their offspring, as they spend most days in and around my studio garden, even sometimes knocking on the window to say hello!

There is a wealth of mythology surrounding crows in numerous cultures. For the ancient Greeks, the crow was a symbol of Apollo, god of prophecy; a powerful symbol of good fortune and strength. In some cultures, seeing a crow means hope for the future and that the heart’s true wishes will be fulfilled, while many Native American cultures see the crow as a wise adviser and protector. No matter your beliefs, these are beautiful, intelligent birds.

Let this totem crow feather charm necklace be your own personal guardian. May it act as a talisman for light, hope and good fortune, and give you the confidence to fly free and follow your dreams.

Please note, each piece is individually hand-forged by me from sterling silver, using authentic cruelty-free ‘moult-drop’ crow feathers, traditional tools, and a whole lot of love. There will therefore be very slight differences in each piece, but this means that your feather necklace will be entirely unique to you. May it allow you to soar.

Part of my “Wild Earth” collection, a celebration of the natural world, its landscapes and wild inhabitants. These pieces are created as a reminder that there is no better designer than Nature, and to find enough beauty to fill the soul, we need only look around us.

Designed and lovingly created in my studio in Moray, Scotland.

I work in sterling silver, ancient bronze, copper and brass, with natural semi-precious gemstones. I make pieces which are perfect for layering together, mixing and matching, so you can grow your collection and choose your pieces according to your mood, or the inspiration you want to gain that day.

Each piece is unique. Whilst I may create similar pieces, as every piece is made individually by hand, no two will ever be the same. I am registered with Edinburgh Assay Office for precious metal work.
