Sterling Silver & Ancient Bronze Shield Earrings

“SHE LOOKS FEAR IN THE FACE BUT SHE NEVER RUNS, SHE NEVER HIDES. SHE ALWAYS FINDS A WAY TO GET BACK UP. SHE’S UNBREAKABLE. SHE’S A WARRIOR.”

Organic sterling silver and ancient bronze ‘shield’ earrings.

Hand-forged, hammered and distressed for an ancient finish, they have been enhanced with a light application of black patina to highlight all the details. Ancient bronze loops add contrast and interest. These have a wonderful organic, tactile feel, and a strong look. Bold and striking, yet comfortably light to wear, these hang from oxidised sterling silver ball ear wires.

These mixed metal shield earrings measure approximately 1 & 5/8″ wide, and measure 1 1/2″ from the top of the hook to the bottom of the shield.

Perfect to wear every day as your own personal shield against whatever life throws your way. Show them all just how strong you really are.

Part of my “Warriors & Relics” collection, inspired by ancient petroglyphs, talismans and totems. Elegant yet rugged pieces that could have been forged in fires thousands of years ago and only recently unearthed. These pieces represent strength and endurance, not just in the physical realm, but an inner strength to keep you focused forward to where you need to be.

The use of bronze in jewellery goes back as far as recorded history allows us to look. It inspired a whole age named after it. Strong and hard-wearing, it has a wonderful pinkish glow that reminds me of rose gold, only more durable. It is one of my favourite metals to work with, and is especially beautiful paired with oxidised silver.

Designed and lovingly created in my studio in Moray, Scotland.

I work in sterling silver, ancient bronze, copper and brass, with natural gemstones. Whilst I may create similar pieces, as every piece is made individually by hand, no two will ever be the same. I am fully registered with Edinburgh Assay Office for precious metal work.
