Mixed Metal Hand Print Necklace

“I AM HERE. I AM PRESENT.”

Sterling silver and copper hand print necklace.

The petroglyph design pendant measures approximately 1″ tall. The sterling silver has been subtly decorated with a sandstone texture, to resemble rock or cave walls, and the bail and loops have been textured to match. The imprint of an ancient petroglyph hand print is etched deep into copper. Oxidised to highlight all the detailing, then brushed and given a final polish for a subtle shine, the pendant hangs from a lightly oxidised sterling silver chain in your chosen length.

This piece has a calming spiritual presence and a tactile, comforting feel. The warmth of the polished copper is so beautiful against the cool silver.

Hand prints are one of the most common petroglyphs, and are found at petroglyph sites around the world. They were used as a way for a person to say “I am here” and to leave a part of their spirit and presence at a particular place. Hands with a spiral are also believed by many to denote protecion and healing.

Wear this as a constant reminder of being in the now, rather than dwelling on the past or concentrating too much on the future. Stay mindful, be present. More important now, than ever.

Part of my “Warriors & Relics” collection, inspired by ancient petroglyphs, talismans and totems. Elegant yet rugged pieces that could have been forged in fires thousands of years ago and only recently unearthed. These pieces represent strength and endurance, not just in the physical realm, but an inner strength to keep you focused forward to where you need to be.

Designed and lovingly created in my studio in Moray, Scotland.

I work in sterling silver, ancient bronze, copper and brass, with natural semi-precious gemstones. I make pieces which are perfect for layering together, mixing and matching, so you can grow your collection and choose your pieces according to your mood, or the inspiration you want to gain that day.

Each piece is unique. Whilst I may create similar pieces, as every piece is made individually by hand, no two will ever be the same. I am registered with Edinburgh Assay Office for precious metal work.
