Unbroken Bracelet
“THERE IS A CRACK IN EVERYTHING, THAT’S HOW THE LIGHT GETS IN”
Sterling silver and 18ct gold bracelet.
This bracelet is a special edition of my river gorge bracelet. Layers of sterling silver are soldered together to create a deep gorge. The surface was then textured by fusing sterling silver particles, before 18ct gold was melted and flowed along the canyon.
The silver has been darkly oxidised, then lightly polished to highlight the detailing and add contrast. The 18ct gold shines brightly against the dark silver. A bright gold sliver of light in the darkness.
The bracelet centrepiece measures 1.5″ long, on an asymmetrically-detailed chain. The bracelet is adjustable up to 8″ long, and features my hammered hallmark tag at the end of the chain.
This piece is inspired, in part, by the Japanese art of Kintsugi, where broken pottery is repaired with gold, and no attempt is made to hide the damage. Instead the repair is literally illuminated, embracing the cracks and scars. After all, just like rivers develop and weather the canyon walls, you can’t realise your full potential until you’ve weathered some tough times.
This piece is for anyone needing a gentle, visual reminder that though we are all, in some way, worn down, the light IS always there if we allow ourselves to see it, seeping through the cracks and illuminating the dark. A reminder that you remain, always, unbroken.

Each piece of jewellery in this collection is one-of-a-kind, created by hand from sterling silver and 18ct gold. The darkly oxidised silver represents life’s struggles, but the golden light is always there, seeping in, around the edges, through the cracks, bringing hope and illuminating the way. There is always a glimmer of light, if we seek it out, if we let it in.
Tactile pieces to hold onto for comfort and positivity; a visual reminder that the light IS always there if we seek it, if we allow ourselves to see it.
